About this project
Hookblast is a fast 2D free-for-all arena game. You swing on a grappling hook, throw grenades, and ride the momentum around small arenas — speed carries between moves, so a hook swing chained into a grenade jump sends you flying, and a mistimed one leaves you in a crater of your own making. First player to the kill target wins the round, and falling off the map counts against you. The control set is small. A and D move, Space jumps on the ground or in the air, the mouse aims, left click throws a grenade, right click fires the hook. Controllers are supported with the same actions mapped to sticks and triggers. There are three ways to play: solo against bots, online Quick Play in public rooms where bots fill the empty seats, and private rooms shared through a lobby code. Several arenas are in rotation, with a short results screen between rounds. The project is open source, built with TypeScript and Vite, and currently at version 0.1.0.
