A website that turns away our checker is no longer called dead
Some websites answer an automated request with a refusal even though every visitor can open them. Those projects were being labelled Dead in the catalog. The check now tells a refusal apart from an outage.
Fixed
- A project whose website refuses the automated check, for example behind a bot filter answering HTTP 403, keeps its listing instead of being marked Dead and warning visitors before they open it.
- The availability check now identifies itself the way an ordinary browser request looks, so fewer websites turn it away in the first place.
- A refused or failed check no longer counts as a change of destination, so projects stopped being sent to security review because an error page looked different from the real one.
